Ted Hasiuk

KJAZZ Radio UK is proud to present and welcome one of the worlds noted icons of Smoooth Jazz Radio Ted Hasiuk and his globally broadcast program Cafe Jazz.  KJAZZ Radio UK has reached agreement to stream Teds music from his website to the KJAZZ Radio UK listener.

Cafe Jazz The Beginning

Cafe Jazz finds its roots back in September 1997 when Café Jazz first aired, in French, on CKXL in Winnipeg continuing for two years. In September 1998, Ted began broadcasting on CJUM, once again in Winnipeg and continued for four years. Canada’s Smooth Jazz Connection was heard in Winnipeg in both official languages and as such is perhaps the only show in Canada, most certainly the only Smooth Jazz show in Canada, to have had that distinction!

Meet Ted!

An avid fan of music, Ted first listened to smooth jazz while vacationing in the USA back in the late 80s. Ted says “It was love at first listen” and awakened a desire that could only be described as insatiable. After several years of compiling a smooth jazz library, which has evolved into the largest in Canada, Ted with his background as an educator, took to the airwaves in an effort to spread the word! The spring and summer of 1998, saw the formation of Jazz Lynx, the company created to act as an umbrella for all projects that went beyond the radio show, thus launching Jazz Lynx & Café Jazz. So, it’s Jazz Lynx the company and Café Jazz the radio program. In early 2007, Ted was nominated as the 2006 CSJA Broadcaster of the Year. Having no prior broadcasting background, he was honoured by the accolade. The following year, Café Jazz went international and achieved a global presence.

Ted’s passion for music comes through in the selections he chooses as well as in the knowledge he brings to the program. Musicians look to Ted for advice, his genuine interest in their music and his integrity – he’s always considered it a personal privilege to expose and support new artists and in that he shares the same vision as KJAZZ Radio UK promoting musicians when they most need it.

We hope that by acting as a conduit to bring you Cafe Jazz we not only expose you to this talented broadcaster here in Europe but also help promote the musicians in the large Cafe Jazz roster of talent. Cafe Jazz is streamed from Jazz Lynx and KJAZZ Radio UK is not responsible for the content, views or opinions expressed on the show Cafe Jazz. Please contact Ted Hasiuk through jazzlynx.net if you have questions about Cafe Jazz.
